With all this beautiful weather the farm is beginning to mix colors of rich browns (irrigating fields) dark greens (the thick clover growing) scattered specs of blacks, browns and whites (the active herd of mother cows and their newborn babies) and snowy whites (the shedding of the cotton from the Cottonwood trees). This is one of our favorite times of the year on the farm where we work to see the clover and barley hay grow lushly in the fields and the straight and even rows of sweet corn start to emerge. Onions are sprouting, baby calves are born, we are preparing our turkey pens for the first batch of baby turkeys and there is a fresh hustle and bustle as we plan for the summer and fall activities.
