Happy Turkey Day from Young’s Farm. We hope each and every one of you enjoyed a fresh, farm raised turkey from Young’s Farm this Thanksgiving. We know you are forward thinkers and have already placed your Christmas order, but in case you have forgotten, order online as soon as possible. Well, Young’s Farm has been in the news quite a bit lately and we want to make sure you are up to date on correct information, so please read on and let us know if you have any questions. Fresh Poultry will no longer be available to Arizona

For over 20 years Young’s Farm and the Basha family (AJ’s Fine Foods and Bashas Stores) have enjoyed a valued relationship in the poultry business. Together, we have been able to provide the state of Arizona with premium poultry products that are fresh, all natural and great tasting. The Basha family has been a dependable purchaser of Young’s Farm products, including fruit pies, potpies and of course fresh chickens and turkeys. For more than two decades we have greatly appreciated their business and the strong working relationship we have developed.

Regrettably, AJ’s Fine Foods has decided they will no longer carry the majority of Young’s Farm chicken products in 2007. Without the chicken sales to our large supermarket chains we will not have the volume to continue production for Arizona at this time.

We have thoroughly enjoyed the last 60 years of farming in Arizona as well as 27 years of direct retail marketing to our customers. Thank you to the Basha family(AJ’s Fine Foods & Bashas stores), Albertsons, Hobe Meats, Rincon Market, Butcher Bob, the distinguished businesses such as Chas Roberts Air Conditioning, the numerous restaurants that serve Young’s Farm products and all of our beloved loyal customers for making the years in Arizona agriculture productive and fruitful. Remember, just because the farm will close doesn’t mean our creative juices stop flowing...who knows where the possibilities will begin again?

Fire Burns Young’s Farm Restaurant

It is with heavy hearts that I write to inform you of the loss at Young’s Farm. On Friday, November 3rd at about 8:00 pm the back boiler room of the restaurant caught on fire and by 12:30 am the entire restaurant had burned and was declared a total loss. Fortunately, we are able to report that no one was injured and local firefighters contained the fire to the restaurant building, leaving all other buildings at Young’s Farm (ie: Country Store, Bakery, Gift Shop, Critter Corral, Office buildings and Processing facilities) unharmed and 100% functional.

As we wind down the year and the existence of Young’s Farm in Dewey, this abrupt end to our Farm Restaurant is hard to swallow. However, we want to report that the 2006 holiday turkey harvest is underway and you will still be able to purchase Young’s Farm turkeys at Young’s Farm, AJ’s Fine Foods, Bashas stores, Albertson’s, and other meat markets in your area this year.

This holiday season we will count our blessings and be thankful for a successful year as well as the incredible time we had being Arizona Farmers.
